As a child growing up in my neighborhood, I saw big love, strength, and the force of everyone around me—beautiful Black people, Black-owned stores, businesses, and homes, no matter where I went. I felt safe and secure, as if it was a home away from home. Those were the best days of my life.
Over the years, I saw the situation change. The presence of my people was no longer reflected in the neighborhood around me. These days, it's hard to find a Black-owned store or business in your neighborhood that you can just walk into.
Power in My People 2gether is asking that we take a deep dive into how we can resolve these issues and return our people back to the loving, caring community that we once were. We are asking you to support the next generation by every means necessary to ensure their successful financial rise back to our former state of unity and love—one people, one mission.
